Job summary

Medical City McKinney is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support RNs and provide compassionate, patient-centered care in the PCU. This full-time role covers day shifts with rotating weekends, offering hands-on assistance with vital signs, mobility, personal care, and safe patient handling in a busy hospital environment.

You will help maintain a clean, organized unit, manage supplies, and communicate clearly with patients, families, and the care team to promote safety and quality care.

Qualifications

• BCLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient preparation, mobility, transfers and comfort to support care and recovery.
• Provide non-medicated care such as dressing changes and skin protection.
• Keep patient areas clean, organized and stocked to maintain safety and efficiency.
• Manage supplies, equipment and logs to support infection control and team readiness.
• Communicate kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality.
