Job summary

Planned Parenthood of Central and Western New York is seeking a Patient Care Specialist in Buffalo, NY. The role supports health center operations by educating patients, recording data, and assisting clinicians in exam rooms.

Responsibilities include intake procedures, insurance verification, and patient scheduling. The position requires strong customer service, confidentiality, and flexibility to travel to other PPCWNY sites as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Medical Assistant certification desired.
• 2–4 years of experience in a clinical role.
• Ability to handle client information discreetly and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, verify demographics and insurance, and assist with intake and forms.
• Record data accurately in the Electronic Health Record and collect vital signs.
• Assist clinicians in exam rooms with patient support, counseling, and education.
• Open/close exam rooms and maintain cleanliness of patient service areas.
• Support with referrals, scheduling, and cash handling following PPFA guidelines.
• Travel to multiple sites as directed by Health Center Leadership.
