Job summary

The MetroHealth System in Cleveland, OH, seeks a Patient Care Nurse Assistant for the Neuro Trauma Recovery Brain Injury Unit, 8N. The role supports TBI patients with daily activities, vital signs, and basic care in a high-acuity inpatient setting.

Responsibilities include assisting with personal hygiene, feeding, monitoring patient status, and collaborating with RNs, therapists, and case management to ensure safe, quality care. Requires teamwork, reliability, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam.
• Ability to work in a team environment while demonstrating good judgment, flexibility, initiative, and effectively problem-solving skills.
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assisting patients with all aspects of personal hygiene, eating and drinking.
• Answering call lights and taking vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, height, weight, and other parameters as instructed).
• Performing/transmitting basic ECG and phlebotomy.
