Job summary

Kaiser Permanente in Harbor City (South Bay Medical Center) is seeking a Nursing Attendant to support patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician. The role requires adherence to established standards, confidentiality, and teamwork within the health care team.

The position is on-call, with shifts that may vary, and responsibilities include assisting with patient care activities and proper data collection.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year experience as a Nursing Attendant in an acute hospital or related setting.
• Current enrollment in an approved RN or LVN program may substitute for 1 year of experience.
• Certification as Nursing Assistant may be required as specified by Medical Center.

Responsibilities

• Upholds Kaiser Permanente policies and procedures and applicable laws.
• Communicates effectively with the care team and escalates when needed.
• Transports patients, equipment, supplies, and specimens using proper body mechanics.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and keeps the environment clean and functional.
• Provides patient care under supervision of RN or physician and participates in performance improvement activities.
