Job summary

Memorial Healthcare System in Miramar, FL is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide basic patient care under the supervision of an RN. You will monitor vital signs, assist with daily living activities, and help with routine tasks to ensure patient comfort and safety.

Responsibilities include phlebotomy, EKG testing, glucose measurement, and reporting changes in patient condition to the nursing team. Prior experience or formal training is preferred; BLS certification is required.

Qualifications

• No degree required; BLS certification required.
• Three months patient care experience or completion of a formal training program.
• Ability to work under RN supervision in a stressful environment.
• Basic patient care tasks include vital signs, phlebotomy, EKG, glucose checks.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, EKG testing, phlebotomy, taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.
• Assists with keeping patient rooms/areas stocked, clean and orderly.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, and eating.
• Assist with transporting patients, as needed.
• Monitors patient status and reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
• Additional duties as assigned.
