Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Current Nursing Assistant Certification in New York State required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
• 1-3 years of relevant experience OR successful completion of Northwell CNA Certification Program, required.

Responsibilities

• Administers nursing care under direct supervision to residents/patients to support independence.
• Provides hygienic care and assists with activities of daily living.
• Takes vital signs and reports abnormalities to the RN.
• Assists with meals and feeding per policy and procedures.
• Follows infection control and safety principles.
• Maintains clean work areas and replenishes supplies.
• Transports residents/patients under RN direction.
• Performs Grade I decubitus and preventive skin care as prescribed.
• Applies dressings and aseptic technique; uses warm/cold compresses; skin care.
• Performs related duties; all responsibilities are essential under ADA.
