Job summary

Hebrew SeniorLife is seeking a Patient Care Associate (PCA) in Boston to protect, sustain, and nurture residents who live at the Center. You will assist with activities of daily living and environmental care to promote a high quality of life in a home-like setting.

You will participate as a team member, demonstrate empathy, and uphold patient dignity, safety, and confidentiality while delivering safe, efficient care. On-site work and ongoing training are expected.

Qualifications

• CNA certification in good standing or current enrollment in nursing school with clinical experience.
• Fluent English – verbal and written.
• Computer literacy required.
• Flexibility and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Must complete mandatory HSL/HRC educational requirements and programs.
• Pass PCA skills test with 70% or greater.

Responsibilities

• Recognize and respond to the needs of patients and families.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to the nursing team.
• Maintain Safe Patient Handling practices and a no manual lift environment.
• Participate in Quality Improvement programs.
• Assist patients with all aspects of personal care as indicated in care plans.
• Document care delivered in the patient’s electronic medical record.
• Report accidents, incidents, and suspected patient abuse.
• Observe and report skin integrity and participate in daily care planning meetings.
