Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• 16- and 17-year-olds may be considered with a valid work permit.
• 18-year-olds in high school may be considered without diploma/permit.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming and eating.
• Maintain clean and safe patient rooms, unit and equipment.
• Foster respectful and compassionate relationships with patients and families to enhance patient experience.
• May serve as a patient safety champion and promote safety guidelines among staff.
• May assist in telemetry monitoring and promptly communicate findings to licensed clinicians.
• May act as transporter for the nursing unit and run errands for patient care.
• Perform delegable nursing tasks delegated by the RN, and document collected data.
• Assist visitors and staff with information needs and coordinate care using wireless devices.
