Job summary

Duke University Health System in Durham, NC seeks a Nursing Assistant (NA) to support patient care under RN/LPN supervision. The NA provides direct care, assists with activities of daily living, and supports unit operations.

Ideal candidates will maintain patient dignity, perform basic care, document accurately in the electronic health record, and respond to emergencies with appropriate action. Pre-employment physical capacity testing may be required.

Qualifications

• Direct patient care under RN/LPN supervision
• Accurate documentation in EHR
• Ability to respond to emergencies and maintain aseptic technique

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients, equipment and supplies for procedures.
• Take and record vital signs and I&O; document data.
• Assist with admissions, discharges and transportation of patients.
• Provide personal care: feeding, bathing, dressing, mobility support.
• Maintain unit cleanliness and restock supplies.
