Job summary

Visiting Angels Longview is seeking a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to support seniors in East Texas, including Avinger and surrounding communities. You will provide compassionate in-home care, assisting with daily living tasks, mobility, medication reminders, meal preparation, and transportation.

We offer training in dementia and Alzheimer's care, flexible shifts (full-time, part-time, 8/10/12 hour options), and a benefits package including health, dental, vision insurance and weekly pay.

Qualifications

• Passion to serve others - a true caregiver
• Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
• Good time management and organizational abilities

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
• Help clients with routine exercises
• Plan and prepare meals with assistance from the clients
• Do the client's shopping or accompany them when they shop
• Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can't complete on their own
• Be a pleasant and supportive companion
• Report any unusual incidents
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
