Phelps Health in Missouri is seeking a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse, supporting basic nursing tasks while ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Qualified candidates typically have a high school diploma or GED, and at least one year of experience; CNA preferred. If uncertified or less than a year, PCA Academy training is available, with BLS within 90 days of employment.

Competenze

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• One year experience preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) through the state of Missouri preferred.
• If uncertified or less than one year experience, must attend PCA Academy for training.

Mansioni

• Follows hospital policy on patient safety, infection prevention, and safe patient handling; notifies licensed nurse of changes in patient condition.
• Performs basic patient care duties under supervision, including vital signs, glucometer checks, toileting, feeding, bathing, and activity support.
• Documents all patient care activities accurately to support clinical decision making.
• Communicates pertinent patient information to the team to improve outcomes and care.
• Works with nursing staff to meet basic patient needs and respond to requests to enhance patient experience.
• Assists in maintaining a safe and clean environment for patients.
