Qualifications

• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) must be obtained within first 90 days of employment (BLS training provided).

Responsibilities

• Follows established hospital policy regarding patient safety and infection prevention.
• Provides basic patient care duties under the supervision of a licensed nurse (vital signs, glucometer checks, toileting, feeding, bathing, activities).
• Performs actions to support quality outcomes and patient safety within hospital policy.
• Collaborates with nursing staff to care for basic patient needs and responds to patient requests to ensure safety and experience.
• Documents patient care activities accurately to support clinical decisions.
• Communicates pertinent patient information to appropriate team members to improve outcomes.
