Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Nursing assistant program graduate.

• Basic patient monitoring and care under licensed nurse supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assists with basic patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse; monitors intake and output; makes beds.
• Takes and records vital signs, Sao2, blood pressure and weight.
• Performs specimen collections and simple procedures; assists with skin care and dressing.
• Maintains clean, orderly patient areas; sets up equipment for admission and care.
• Orients patient to unit; responds to call lights; provides necessary assistance.
• Monitors changes in patient condition and communicates with the care team.
• Reinforces instruction for therapies and repositions patients as needed.
• Maintains line of sight with patient status; supports multidisicplinary team activities.
• Performs observer duties when assigned; supports performance in customer service and teamwork.
• Performs other duties to ensure smooth operation of the department/unit.
