Job summary

Memorial Healthcare System in Pembroke Pines, FL seeks a patient care associate to support nursing staff under the supervision of an RN. You will monitor patient status, assist with daily living activities, transport patients, and help with basic procedures such as vital signs, EKGs, and phlebotomy.

Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain patient safety and comfort. Training includes achieving EKG and phlebotomy competencies within six months.

Qualifications

• No degree required for the role.
• BLS American Heart E-Card certification required.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision in a hospital setting.
• Phlebotomy & EKG competencies expected or to be achieved within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient status and report abnormal findings to nursing staff.
• Assist with transporting patients as needed.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, eating).
• Record vital signs and perform basic clinical tasks (EKG, phlebotomy, glucose checks).
• Keep patient rooms and areas stocked, clean and orderly.
