Job summary

Parkland Health and Hospital System is seeking a dedicated Nursing Assistant to perform essential patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse. This full-time position is located at the Main Hospital Bldg, 5th Floor, with daytime hours from 0700 to 1900.

Candidates should demonstrate basic patient care skills, effective communication, and a patient-centered approach. Responsibilities include hygiene care, vital signs, and assisting with ambulation and feeding while maintaining patient

Qualifications

• Must have completed or be currently enrolled in an approved training program for nursing support.
• Must hold a current Heartsaver CPR card within 90 days of hire/placement.
• Ability to perform basic hygiene care, vital signs, and patient assistance.
• Strong communication with patients, families, and health team members.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic hygiene care and unsterile treatments under RN supervision.
• Take vital signs and assist with activities of daily living.
• Advocate for patient rights, privacy, and comfort.
• Document activities and patient responses per unit standards.
• Maintain sanitation, equipment safety, and infection control.
• Escort patients and assist with transport and specimen delivery.
