Job summary

Parkland Health is seeking a dedicated Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Technician to provide essential patient care under the supervision of Registered Nurses. The role emphasizes patient-centered care, effective communication with staff, and adherence to safety and infection control standards.

The position requires completion or current enrollment in nursing-related training or certification programs, plus Heartsaver CPR within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Formal nurse aide training or equivalent certification is required.
• Valid CPR (Heartsaver) within 90 days of hire is required.
• Proven ability to perform basic patient care tasks and communicate with care teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic hygiene care, assist with unsterile treatments, monitor vital signs, and support mobility.
• Act as patient advocate, maintain patient rights and confidentiality, and coordinate with care teams.
• Monitor patient status and notify nurses of changes in condition as needed.
• Document activities like vital signs and feeding outcomes accurately in the chart.
• Maintain sanitation, infection control, safety, and equipment use to ensure safe patient care.
• Escort patients within the facility and assist with translation services when needed.
