Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a compassionate Nursing Assistant for the Medical Surgical - 7 West unit. Under supervision of a Registered Nurse, you perform basic patient care activities to support personal needs, comfort and safety.

Essential duties include taking and recording vital signs, collecting specimens, assisting with activities of daily living, basic clinical procedures, and supporting nutrition and safety. You will work to maintain infection control and patient comfort.

Qualifications

• Basic ability to read, write and perform basic four-function math.
• Ability to obtain knowledge of medical terminology, basic personal computer skills, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Cares for patients as delegated by the registered nurse and completes activities of daily living.
• Takes and records vital signs (including height, weight, oxygen saturation) and reports abnormalities.
• Collects specimens for analysis and measures intake and output.
• Performs basic clinical procedures under supervision.
• Assists with nutrition needs and meal setup, supports infection control and safety.
