Job summary

PCH Princeton Community Hospital in Bluefield, WV is seeking a patient care support role to assist Registered Nurses with admission, transfers, discharges and general patient care. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Prior patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observes and reports patient concerns/changes in condition to a registered nurse immediately.
• Assists the RN with admission, transfer, discharge and general patient care duties.
• Records vital signs and assists with hygiene and patient comfort measures.
• Assists in specimen collection and related activities for assigned patients.
• Maintains a clean, safe environment to help prevent infections and ensure safety.
• Reports equipment issues to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
• Performs basic patient preparation for examinations and procedures.
• Communicates nutrition issues to RN and assists with dietary changes.
• Supports departmental operations with administrative tasks.
• Answers patient call bells and relays messages to the appropriate personnel.
