Job summary

Visiting Angels Athens is seeking a Patient Care Aide (PCA) to support local seniors in Athens and surrounding areas with compassionate, dependable care. This role focuses on companionship, mobility assistance, and personal care to enhance quality of life.

We offer opportunities for training in dementia or Alzheimer’s care and encourage growth as you develop hands-on skills in light housekeeping, meal preparation, and safe transportation for clients in the community.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Passion to serve others and be a true caregiver.
• Emergency response and first aid knowledge.
• Respectful and compassionate with good time management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
• Help clients with routine exercises
• Plan and prepare meals with assistance from the clients
• Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop
• Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can’t complete on their own
• Be a pleasant and supportive companion
• Report any unusual incidents
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
