Job summary

Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare (TMH) is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse in a 772-bed facility. You will assist with activities of Daily Living, monitor vital signs, and help maintain a clean, safe environment.

The role requires completion of clinical orientation and a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; six months float pool experience is preferred and one year is optional. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Required Education: None
• Required Experience: None (minimum six months for float pool)
• Preferred Experience: One year of job-related experience preferred
• Required Certification/License/Registry: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification before patient care

Responsibilities

• Care of medically ill acute or sub-acute patients
• Performs direct patient care
• Observes and reports changes in patient condition
• Provides a clean and safe environment
• Assists with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, etc.)
• Promotes mobility and safe transfers
• Assists with nutrition and hydration
• Assists with toileting and elimination
• Performs data gathering and vital signs monitoring
