Job summary

Southcoast Health is seeking a dedicated Patient Access Representative to join our team at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford, MA. You will check in and out patients, schedule visits and tests, greet patients, and handle calls with professionalism.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, good computer and typing skills, and excellent interpersonal abilities. Prior medical office experience is preferred, with vaccination or exemption compliance as described.

Qualifications

• Equal to the completion of 4 years of high school is required.
• Good computer and typing skills are required.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills are required.
• Good organizational skills and ability to work in a fast paced environment is required.
• One year of medical office practice experience or graduation from a medical secretary program or the equivalent is preferred.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired

Responsibilities

• Check-in and check-out patients at assigned practice(s).
• Perform scheduling of patient visits, tests and surgical procedures.
• Greet patients, answer and direct telephone calls.
• Perform various clerical and administrative functions.
• May cover different offices as needed or directed.
