Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a full-time patient registration professional in Janesville, WI. You will register patients, verify insurance, collect payments, and maintain accurate demographics and billing information in EPIC. Qualifications

• Graduate of high school or equivalent preferred
• One to two years customer service experience required
• Knowledge of third-party payors preferred
• Medical terminology preferred

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and customers with friendliness, and provides assistance while maintaining calm under pressure
• Registers patients and checks in hospital outpatient visits
• Verifies insurance information and collects applicable co-pays and payments
• Enters demographic, guarantor, and billing information into the electronic medical record (EPIC)
• Maintains cash drawer and balances cash at shift end
• Provides directions and escorts patients/visitors to correct area
