Job summary

Heart of Florida Health Center seeks a Medical Assistant to deliver quality patient care within the clinic setting. The role involves preparing exam rooms, taking vital signs, and assisting providers with procedures in a climate-controlled environment.

You will document notes, immunizations, and lab draws, maintain supplies, and communicate with the care team through EMR and the patient portal while upholding HIPAA standards and patient privacy at all times.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current BLS certificate with hands-on skills verification.
• Florida MA/CNA certification preferred.
• Spanish fluency desirable but not required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with physicians, patients and staff.
• Knowledge of patient privacy and HIPAA requirements.
• One year of medical office or clinic experience preferred.
• Willingness to cover at multiple home locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients in a friendly, professional manner.
• Prepare examination and treatment rooms and assist providers.
• Perform vital signs and basic in-office procedures as directed.
• Document notes, immunizations, lab draws, and medication records.
• Maintain inventory, supplies, and equipment in exam areas.
• Follow OSHA and infection control policies in daily tasks.
• Communicate with care team via EMR and patient portal messages.
• Assist with referrals, chart reviews, and outside records as needed.
