Job summary

The Palms of Mount Pleasant, part of Discovery Senior Living, is seeking a dedicated Caregiver to enrich the lives of seniors in a warm, home-like environment.

As a Caregiver, you will provide hands-on personal care, support daily activities, and ensure safety while promoting dignity and independence for residents on a part-time schedule.

You will work on a weekday rotation with some weekend shifts, with competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• CNA preferred and actively pursuing certification may be considered
• High School diploma or GED required
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Prior experience working with seniors preferred
• Strong communication with residents, team members, and leadership
• Compassionate, resident-focused approach with excellent customer service
• Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
• Sound judgement, problem-solving and decision-making abilities

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on personal care including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, ambulation and feeding assistance
• Ensure a safe, clean, home-like environment and monitor resident wellbeing
• Respond to security system and resident call bells promptly
• Promote independence while ensuring dignity, safety and comfort
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of resident rooms and work areas
• Offer companionship and emotional support to residents
• Engage residents in meaningful life skills and enrichment activities
• Notify supervisor if a resident’s care needs increase
• Perform other duties as assigned
