Job summary

Home Helpers Careers is seeking an Overnight Caregiver to provide attentive nighttime care for our client in Austin. The role requires alertness, reliability, and compassionate support during overnight hours.

The ideal candidate will stay awake, assist with ADLs, monitor safety, remind about medications, handle light tasks, and document overnight notes for a smooth morning handoff to the next caregiver or family. CPR/First Aid certification is a plus and reliable transportation is required.

Qualifications

• Prior caregiving experience preferred.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to stay awake and alert throughout the shift.
• CPR/First Aid certification a plus.
• Comfortable with basic ADL assistance (dressing, grooming, mobility).
• Strong communication skills for shift handoff notes.

Responsibilities

• Assist with nighttime toileting and incontinence care as needed.
• Monitor client safety and respond to needs during the night.
• Assist with repositioning to prevent discomfort or pressure sores.
• Provide medication reminders as scheduled.
• Light housekeeping (tidying, dishes) as needed.
• Prepare a light snack or meal if requested.
• Document any overnight incidents or changes in condition.
• Assist with morning routine handoff to next caregiver or family.
