Job summary

Morningstar Residential Care Center in Oswego, NY, is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) to work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. You will help design and implement individualized treatment plans, conduct assessments, and provide hands-on therapy to enhance residents’ function and well-being.

The role requires completion of an accredited OTA program and certification, with opportunities to collaborate within an interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited OTA program and OTA certification.
• Strong understanding of occupational therapy principles and practices.
• Ability to lift and move residents, as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans to meet residents’ needs.
• Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify resident needs and goals.
• Provide hands-on therapy sessions to improve resident function and mobility.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of resident progress and treatment plans.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care.
• Participate in peer review and staff development activities to enhance professional growth.
