Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a dedicated registered nurse to provide compassionate care in a clinical setting. The role involves 40-hour weeks with day shifts and potential on-call hours, and may require weekend or holiday coverage based on staffing needs.

Responsibilities include administering medications, collaborating with the care team, documenting per standards, and developing individualized patient care plans in alignment with physician orders and clinic policy.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• ADN required upon hire, BSN preferred.
• May require specific years of applicable experience to qualify (per department guidelines).

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients.
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies and procedures, standards of care, and State laws practice act.
• Documents according to standards of care.
• Performs assessments, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care.
• Develops, initiates, and executes a patient plan of care according to individualized needs, as prescribed by Physician and/or clinic policy.
• Participates in department or unit performance improvement activities; may include shared governance.
• Utilizes clinical expertise to support patient’s longitudinal plan of care across units.
• Escalates patient safety issues through proper channels.
• Participates in the professional nursing continuum process and peer review.
