Job summary

Tennessee Oncology is seeking an experienced RN to provide safe, high-quality patient care across the cancer treatment continuum. You will work with clinicians to manage symptoms, deliver chemo/biotherapy, and participate in research protocol documentation within a community-based network.

Responsibilities include coordinating direct patient care, data verification, and EMR documentation, with supervision of LPNs/CNAs/MAs. Travel to additional TO clinics may be required.

Qualifications

• Current TN or compact state RN license.
• Minimum one-year RN experience.
• ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy card within 6 months of hire.
• TO approved BLS provider card.
• Oncology certification strongly recommended within 2 years of hire.
• Experience in an outpatient facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and perform direct patient care, collaborating with other care providers and team members.
• Review/verify all patient data before and during visits.
• Assess/treat symptoms with the physician for disease, treatment, and progression.
• Perform telephone triage to address patient concerns.
• Start IVs and manage central venous access devices as trained.
• Administer chemotherapy and other drugs per TO standards after training.
• Document administration and billing of meds and procedures.
• Monitor lab specimens and anticoagulation therapy with provider input.
• Supervise LPNs, CNAs and MAs; travel to TO clinics as needed.
• Maintain EMR documentation and daily/weekly/monthly inventories.
