Job summary

Hospice of Baton Rouge is seeking a compassionate On-Call Registered Nurse to join our dedicated team. The RN provides after-hours nursing assessment, hospice care, and clinical support to promote patient comfort, dignity, and quality of life.

This role coordinates after-hours care, triage, nursing visits, and admissions in line with agency policies and nursing practice requirements. With BSN preferred, you must hold a Louisiana RN license and CPR certification, and have a minimum of two years

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred; valid Louisiana RN license.
• Minimum of two years of professional nursing experience required.
• Experience in acute care, oncology, or hospice setting strongly preferred.
• Ability to perform after-hours triage and nursing visits and coordinate care during on-call shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide after-hours, weekend, and holiday on-call coverage as scheduled.
• Perform nursing visits for symptom management, falls, changes in condition, or actively dying patients.
• Coordinate urgent medication needs and DME after hours.
• Complete admissions and coordinate care with Case Managers and interdisciplinary team.
• Document all calls and visits accurately in EMR systems within established timelines.
