Job summary

Wellstar is seeking an Occupational Therapist to assess and treat in rehabilitation settings, focusing on activities of daily living, mobility, cognition, and range of motion. The role emphasizes cost-conscious, high-quality care with adherence to regulatory standards, collaboration with physicians, and patient-centered discharge planning.

Qualified candidates will have graduated from an accredited OT program, and possess required licensure or certifications (BLS).

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited occupational therapy program.
• Licensure/certifications required upon hire; BLS is required.
• Strong communication, customer service focus, teamwork, and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess and plan treatment programs in collaboration with the physician.
• Establish and update a plan of care with patients and/or families.
• Create realistic discharge plans incorporating patient and family goals.
• Plan, implement, and adjust occupational therapy treatments to progress toward goals.
• Provide patient and family education and discharge instructions; refer to community resources as appropriate.
• Document evaluations and plans of care per departmental guidelines.
