Job summary

Caretenders, a part of LHC Group and a member of the Optum family, is hiring an Occupational Therapist to assess and address patients’ functional status, daily living activities, fine motor skills, and home adaptation needs. The role includes collaboration with physicians to develop therapy plans and education for patients and families.

Qualifications

• Current Occupational Therapy licensure in state of practice.
• Current CPR certification.
• Current driver’s license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
• Ability to function in any home situation regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition of the client.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates the patient's functional status, status of all body systems as required for CMS documentation, and occupational therapy needs.
• Consults with the physician in the development of the therapy plan of care.
• Observes, records, and reports to the nurse supervisor and the physician the patient's response to treatment and changes to the patient's condition.
• Conducts patient assessments evaluating the level of function by applying diagnostic and prognostic functional ability tests.
• Instructs patient, family, caregiver, and participating members of the health care team in the areas of therapy in which they can participate to assist the patient

Skills

Current CPR certification

Current Occupational Therapy licensure
