Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse for our 23-bed Labor & Delivery unit. You will provide care through labor, delivery, and the postpartum period, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary teams for safe outcomes.

The role requires a Michigan RN license, BLS, and fetal monitoring certification; BSN preferred and may be required within 8 years. The unit emphasizes evidence-based practice and patient-centered education.

Qualifications

• RN with an Associate's degree; BSN preferred, BSN within 8 years.
• Current Michigan RN license in good standing.
• BLS certification by orientation.
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring certification (PQF or NCC) within 6 months.
• ACLS or PALS may be required based on unit needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care through labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery.
• Perform comprehensive assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments per nursing standards.
• Monitor maternal and fetal status, including electronic fetal monitoring.
• Assist with obstetric procedures and support surgical teams as needed.
• Educate patients and families on care, recovery, and discharge planning.
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately.
• Delegate tasks and coordinate care with the broader team.
• Evaluate patient progress and adjust care plans to achieve outcomes.
• Review procedure cards and ensure supplies/equipment are available for procedures.
• Anticipate physician needs during operative procedures.
• Monitor patient condition during surgery and report issues.
• Update preference cards and report equipment issues.
• Serve as a resource for Circulators unfamiliar with specialty equipment.
• Participate in after-hours call rotation.
