Job summary

Optalis Healthcare in Ann Arbor, MI is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide nursing and related services to residents per each resident's assessment and plan of care, in a homelike environment that supports resident rights and independence.

You will assist with bathing, feeding, ADLs, and vital signs; document changes, follow infection control, and collaborate with the Unit Charge Nurse to update care plans while maintaining confidentiality and high ethical standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Successful completion of a state-approved nurse aide training and competency evaluation program within 4 months of hire; or completion of a State-approved program with no 24-month break in service.
• Verification of training and competency from the State Nurse Aide Registry regarding abuse, neglect or misappropriation of resident's property.
• Prior experience in personal care is preferred.
• Ability to lift and position patients; work in a high-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic patient care such as bathing, feeding, and assisting with activities of daily living and designated procedures.
• Make occupied and unoccupied beds and maintain an orderly environment; distribute nourishments.
• Maintain personal and oral hygiene of patients.
• Provide direct care to residents according to the plan of care.
• Assist with planning, implementing and evaluating care plans; report changes to Unit Charge Nurse; update FYI records.
• Follow infection control policies and universal precautions.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident and facility information.
