Job summary

Optalis Healthcare in Michigan seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide compassionate nursing care and support to residents according to individualized care plans. You will help residents with activities of daily living while maintaining a homelike environment and protecting residents' rights.

The role requires completion of nurse aide training and state registry verification, with prior experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED to gain knowledge of basic patient care methods and training.
• Successful completion of a nurse aide training and competency evaluation program approved by the State, within 4 months of hire; or within 24 months with no break in service.
• Acceptable verification of training and competency evaluation from the State Nurse Aide Registry concerning abuse, neglect, or misappropriation of resident's property.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic patient care duties such as bathing, feeding and assisting with activities of daily living and designated unsterile procedures.
• Makes occupied and unoccupied beds, maintains an orderly environment, and distributes nourishments.
• Maintains personal and oral hygiene of patients.
• Provides direct care to residents according to their care plans.
• Documents and revises the resident's FYI record and communicates with the Unit Charge Nurse.
• Follows infection control policies and uses PPE; adheres to Universal Precautions.
