Job summary

Rivers Health in Point Pleasant, WV is seeking a full-time Nursing Assistant to provide patient care under supervision of an RN or LPN. You will deliver and document care, follow hospital procedures, and participate in unit activities.

Responsibilities include observing patient conditions, transporting supplies, maintaining privacy, supporting orientation of new staff, and contributing to quality improvement efforts.

Qualifications

• Basic ability to read, write and understand simple instructions.
• CPR required.
• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Delivers and documents care according to hospital policies, procedures and philosophies.
• Follows aseptic technique at all times and uses sterile technique when indicated.
• Observes and reports patient concerns and changes in condition to a Nurse.
• Safely transports patients, supplies, and specimens.
• Respects patient privacy and provides care accordingly.
• Assists with orientation of new employees.
• Completes all annual competencies.
• Assists with unit cleanliness.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with Corporate Policies, Procedures and Personnel Employee Handbook.
• Must be able to cross-train to other units.
• Demonstrates excellence in customer service skills.
• Fosters teamwork and participation in unit meetings.
• Participates in quality improvement activities including quality improvement teams.
