Job summary

Atlantic Health’s Newton Medical Center in New Jersey is seeking a Nursing Assistant to work alongside physicians and nurses, providing direct patient care and assisting with daily activities, bathing, meals, transport, and basic medication administration.

You will help ensure a positive patient and family experience through teamwork, alertness, and compassionate care in a busy hospital setting, with opportunities to grow and contribute to a premier health system.

Qualifications

• Direct patient care responsibilities as part of a nursing team.
• Basic communication and patient support to ensure comfort and safety.
• Collaborative care with physicians and nurses to meet patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily activities and direct care.
• Serve and collect meals and provide between-meal nourishment.
• Change bed linen and prepare supplies for treatments and procedures.
• Transport patients within the facility for tests and consultations.
• Measure and record vital signs and provide basic care.
• Maintain a safe environment for patients and families.
• Conduct rounds and check-ins to address needs.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
