Job summary

Atlantic Health Newton Medical Center in Newton, NJ, is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support physicians and nurses, assisting with daily activities including bathing, meals, transportation, administering medication, and positioning, to ensure a positive patient and family experience.

You will perform rounds, record vital signs, help with linens and errands, and prepare supplies while maintaining a safe, compassionate environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 0-3 years of experience as a Nursing Assistant, or in Patient Care or related field with demonstrated increased responsibility in healthcare.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Responsibilities

• Supports nursing personnel in providing direct patient care and assists patients with daily activities.
• Serves and collects food trays and provides between-meal nourishment.
• Changes bed linen, runs errands and prepares and sterilizes treatment trays and supplies.
• Transports patients within the facility for consultations, treatments, tests, or examinations.
• Measures and records patients' vital signs and provides basic treatment.
• Ensures a safe care environment for patients and their families.
• Performs continuous rounds and check-ins to meet patient and family needs.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
