Job summary

UNC Health in Lenoir, NC is seeking a Nursing Assistant I to provide routine patient care in a hospital setting under supervision. You will assist with exams, patient care activities, and basic tasks to support the care team.

The role requires current Nursing Assistant I certification and BLS, with a preference for at least six months of nursing assistant experience. Work is onsite, 36 hours per week, night shift, and compensated hourly.

Qualifications

• Must be fluent in English (verbal and written).
• Basic computer skills."
• Prefer six months of nursing assistant experience.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and providers with routine examinations and procedures.
• Aid in psychiatric settings with patient orientation and de-escalation.
• Observe and document patient information; report changes promptly.
• Assist patients and families during admission, orientation, and discharge.
• Provide care per plan of care: vital signs, specimen collection, wound care, ROM, etc.
• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, feeding, ambulation).
• Provide indirect care: cleaning, stocking, transport, orientation of new staff.
• Reinforce teaching and distribute patient education materials.
