Qualifications

• Six months of general experience or education/training related to NA
• Proficiency in spoken and written English per VA standards
• Completion of education above high school with NA-related courses or a qualifying training program
• Ability to provide patient/resident care and support under RN supervision
• Ability to observe patient status and report deviations promptly
• Demonstrated KSAs in nursing care, communication, and safety procedures

Responsibilities

• Assist in patient care under RN supervision
• Report changes in patient condition to RN
• Operate basic medical equipment (vital signs, EKGs, bladder scans)
• Maintain a safe, clean, therapeutic environment
• Communicate with patients and families while respecting privacy
• Transport patients and collect specimens as needed
• Support in care planning and resident rehabilitation
