Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant to join an on-site team in Massachusetts. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will perform basic patient care, assist with activities of daily living, and support vital signs, intake/output, and nutrition tasks.

The role emphasizes safety, infection control, and collaboration with nursing staff. BLS is required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire. This is a patient-centered position dedicated to high-quality care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic reading, writing and math skills required.
• BLS certification required or within 30 days of hire; knowledge of medical terminology, basic computer skills and interpersonal skills are expected.

Responsibilities

• Care for patients as delegated by the registered nurse and complete activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Take and record vital signs including height, weight and oxygen saturation as directed.
• Collect specimens and measure intake and output.
• Provide for patient nutrition and assist with meal setup and feeding as needed.
• Perform basic clinical procedures under supervision and maintain safety and infection control practices.
• Assist with orientation of new Nursing Assistant colleagues and participate in quality improvement activities.
