Job summary
UCI Health in Orange County seeks a Nursing Assistant to support professional nursing staff by taking vital signs, aiding with patient hygiene, and keeping the unit clean and safe. You will stock supplies, operate hospital equipment as directed, and perform routine clerical tasks in a busy clinical setting.
The role requires CNA certification or active enrollment in a nursing program with at least one clinical semester, plus BLS on hire and a willingness to work weekends and holidays in an acute
Qualifications
- Must have basic medical terminology
- Ability to read, write and speak English effectively
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays
- CNA or enrolled in accredited nursing program with at least 1 clinical semester
- Demonstrated patient care experience, preferably in an acute care setting
- BLS certification current upon hire (AHA)
- Approved workplace violence responder training within 30 days of hire and annually

- Taking and recording vital signs
- Assisting patients with hygiene and elimination
- Maintaining a clean and safe unit environment
- Stocking unit supplies
- Operating hospital equipment as directed
- Performing routine clerical tasks
- Assisting with other duties as assigned
