Job summary

Cone Health Medical Group in Greensboro, NC seeks a Mental Health Technician Nurse Secretary to support psychiatric patients under Trauma Informed Care, following the Registered Nurse's directions and treatment plan. The role involves confidential patient interactions, group education, and intimate collaboration with the nursing team.

Under general supervision, you will monitor patient status, assist with vital signs, transport patients, help with ambulation, and participate in safety checks.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred Nursing Assistant Certificate or Associate's degree in human services.
• Experience in behavioral health or healthcare preferred.
• BLS (CPR) certification required; STARR de-escalation training to be completed within 30 days.
• NCPT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observes and reports changes in patient symptoms and behaviors to the Registered Nurse.
• Helps communicate effectively with patients and families, including facilitating educational groups.
• Performs safety checks and environmental rounds and documents progress.
• Checks supply stocks to meet patient and nursing needs within department budgetary constraints.
• Supports patient care as delegated by the RN, including measuring vital signs and capillary blood glucose, preparing EKGs, transporting patients, and assisting with ambulation.
