Job summary

Cedarhurst Senior Living in West Plains, MO is seeking a Level One Medication Aide (L1MA) to join our on-site care team. This role reports to the Director of Nursing and involves administering medications, supporting daily living activities, and documenting care per individualized plans.

The L1MA helps residents maintain independence, observes condition changes, and communicates with physicians, families, and supervisors. Certification and relevant insulin/CPR/BLS credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Current and active state-approved medication aide/technician certification required.
• Insulin certification preferred.
• CPR or BLS certification preferred.
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct resident care services including medicine distribution according to an individualized plan.
• Observe residents and communicate condition changes to physicians, health care proxies, and supervisors.
• Document observations, interventions and daily medication assistance in the nursing record.
• Pass information to the next shift and ensure timely documentation by staff.
• Check and record vital signs, weights, and blood sugars as assigned.
• Administer and document medications following the five rights ( medication, route, resident, time, dose ).
• Provide glucose monitoring and insulin administration for insulin-certified technicians.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living as needed.
• Support fall prevention and maintain a restraint-free environment.
• Participate in in-service trainings and staff meetings.

Education
