Job summary

The Village of Southampton is seeking a compassionate full-time Resident Medication Aide to provide medication administration and resident care in a warm, homelike environment. The role requires attention to detail, strong communication, and a patient-centered approach to seniors.

Shifts include evenings and weekends, with benefits such as 401K, PTO, healthcare, and other employee perks. Prior elder-care experience and HIPAA understanding are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 6 months to 1 year of prior resident care experience, preferably with seniors.
• Delegation by a Registered Nurse for medication administration.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills, good judgment, and attention to detail.
• Understanding of HIPAA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Exercise independent judgment and discretion in performing tasks beyond routine resident care.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, monitor residents' responses, and adhere to community infection control policies.
• Assist residents with medications as outlined in medication procedures and supervise those who self-administer.
• Maintain residents’ records daily, documenting medication distribution, leisure activities, incidents, observations, and any changes in residents' conditions.
• Count controlled substances with outgoing RMAs, ensuring accuracy before accepting keys.
• Provide direct resident care as described in the Resident Assistant Job Description.
