Job summary

Wellington House in Gastonia, NC is seeking a dedicated Medication Aide to safely administer medications and monitor residents’ health, supporting the nursing staff with compassionate, detail-oriented care.

You will ensure accurate documentation, proper storage and handling of meds, and timely reporting of health changes, while engaging residents in wellness activities and maintaining a safe, respectful environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a state-approved Medication Aide training program preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in healthcare or senior living settings preferred.
• Active Medication Aide certification in good standing with the state.

Responsibilities

• Accurately prepare, administer, and document medications according to physician orders and protocols.
• Ensure proper storage, handling, and disposal of medications in compliance with regulations.
• Monitor residents for adverse reactions or side effects and report concerns promptly.
• Observe and report changes in residents' health status and vital signs.
• Build positive relationships with residents and encourage participation in wellness activities.
• Follow infection control procedures and maintain organized medication carts and records.
