Job summary

Twelve Oaks is seeking a compassionate Medication Aide - SIC to support our clinical team in administering medications and providing specialized care to residents. You will work closely with nursing staff and physicians to ensure accurate dosing, proper documentation, and ongoing monitoring of residents’ health.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, state certification as a Medication Aide, and prior healthcare experience in senior care or assisted living.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• State certification as Medication Aide preferred; on-the-job training available.
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting, especially senior care or assisted living.
• Strong knowledge of medication administration, safety protocols, and infection control practices.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Medication Administration: Administer medications to residents as prescribed, ensuring proper dosage, timing, and documentation.
• Specialized Care Support: Provide individualized care for residents with specific medical needs, including ADLs.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate medication records and report adverse reactions or errors to supervising nurse.
• Resident Monitoring: Observe for side effects or changes in condition and inform the healthcare team.
• Medication Storage & Handling: Store medications safely in compliance with state regulations.
• Collaboration with Healthcare Team: Work with nursing staff, physicians, and others to ensure best care.
• Compliance & Safety: Follow all regulations and safety protocols for medication administration.
