Job summary

Bethesda Senior Living Communities in Colorado Springs is seeking a compassionate Medication Aide to assist with daily living activities, set up medications, and monitor residents' well-being. You will pass meds, manage MARs, and coordinate with families and health professionals to ensure safe, accurate care.

You will escort residents, help with meals and hygiene, and maintain safety and dignity in a patient-centered environment. Excellent communication and empathy are essential.

Qualifications

• Interpersonal skills to communicate with residents, staff, and families.
• Compassion for the elderly and disabled.
• Knowledge of how to administer medications safely.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize emergencies.
• Ability to handle stressful situations with residents, families, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Sets up medications and passes them to residents following established policies and procedures.
• Performs narcotic counts at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Orders medications from pharmacy following community policies.
• Checks MARs for errors and follows policy.
• Admits new residents and assists with activities of daily living.
• Assists with meals, lifts, and escorts residents as needed.
• Maintains confidentiality and communicates professionally with residents and families.
• Documents changes and orders; ensures lab work and physician orders are filed properly.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent

Medication administration certification and CPR/First Aid where required by state regulations
