Job summary

The Medication Assistant (MA) at Good Samaritan Society serves as a caregiver delivering resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a charge nurse. You will document outcomes, assist with meals and activities, and support wellness programs while ensuring safety and compassionate care.

Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse, record vitals, and communicate changes to the charge nurse.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum age 18; prior clinical or nursing assistant experience preferred.
• State CMA/CNA certification required (per state).
• Annual continuing education credits and required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance.
• Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse.
• Document care, med administration, behavior, activity, and dietary notes.
• Monitor and communicate changes in resident condition to the charge nurse.
• Assist with transferring, positioning, nutrition, and housekeeping as needed.
