Job summary

Eastgate Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in East Providence, RI seeks a dependable Resident Transport Driver to move residents to medical appointments and other approved destinations. You will assist residents entering/exiting vehicles and ensure safe mobility for wheelchairs and walkers.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Valid Rhode Island CNA license is recommended.
• Dependable, punctual, able to manage an appointment-based schedule, and on call.
• Comfortable working with elderly and rehabilitation residents.
• Ability to safely assist residents with wheelchairs and mobility devices.
• Strong communication and customer-service skills.
• Must meet all facility employment and transportation requirements.
• Healthcare or senior care experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents to scheduled medical appointments and other approved destinations.
• Assist residents with entering and exiting the vehicle safely.
• Safely accommodate residents using wheelchairs, walkers, and other mobility devices.
• Ensure residents arrive on time and are returned to the facility promptly.
• Maintain communication with nursing staff regarding departures, appointments, delays, and returns.
• Follow all transportation, safety, infection-control, and resident-rights procedures.
• Maintain the cleanliness and general condition of the facility vehicle.
• Complete required transportation logs and documentation.
• Provide courteous, respectful, and professional assistance throughout transportation.
