Qualifications

• Must hold CPR and First Aid certifications.
• EMT within one year of hire.
• Licensed with state motor vehicle operator’s license and clean driving record.
• Strong judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of local Charleston area geography.

Responsibilities

• Ensure vehicle and equipment readiness at shift start and after each call.
• Maintain security of buildings, vehicles, medications and property.
• Perform daily base/station inspections and housekeeping duties.
• Communicate with dispatch, medical control via radio/pager/phone.
• Respond to hospitals and nursing homes for courier and medical transport.
• Provide safe passenger movement and monitoring during transport.
• Complete documentation for every response and transport.
• Obtain medical histories and billing information for passengers.
• Maintain HIPAA privacy and safety policies.
• Recertify CPR/First Aid as required and present professional conduct.
